Dust:
Dust is an unavoidable element in the air and, as a result, it's impossible to prevent it from affecting the film. However, we take every measure to minimize it during installation. We are not responsible for any dust that may appear on the film after installation. Small dust particles are not covered under warranty. If the interior of the vehicle is excessively dirty, it may need to be cleaned to maintain a dust-free environment. A $25 cleaning fee will apply if necessary, which covers areas that may interfere with the tinting process, such as the dash and rear deck. This fee applies only to these critical surfaces, and does not constitute a full vehicle detailing. The fee also includes removal of any animal hair or other debris that may end up under the film during installation. Please note, we are not detailers.
Dot Matrix:
The dot matrix refers to the small series of dots that some manufacturers place around the edge of windows or along the back glass. These dots can create a bump on the glass that might cause the film to adhere unevenly, leading to a silverish appearance. This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the performance of the tint. While the film may settle in a uniform position as it dries, it’s sometimes possible to press down these dots to minimize their appearance. However, this will not eliminate the dots entirely.
Electrical Issues After Install:
Modern vehicles are equipped with an increasing number of electrical components. While every effort is made to prevent damage during the tinting process, there are inherent risks involved, especially when water is sprayed onto the windows. Water runoff can potentially affect sensitive electrical systems, particularly in windshields where water may run behind the dash and damage the ECU. We are not responsible for any electrical damage that may occur during the tinting process. Rear defogger/antenna have a 50/50 chance of damage during the film removal process. Please inquire before the installation if you have concerns about these risks.
Legality:
In the state of Florida, it is legal to tint windows as long as they meet specific VLT (Visible Light Transmission) standards. The legal VLT for passenger vehicles is 28% for the driver and passenger windows, and 15% for the rear windows, subject to a medical exemption. Florida law permits tinting on the rear side windows and rear windshield with no restrictions on darkness or color. It is important to note that no window may have a mirrored or metallic appearance.
For windshields, tinting is allowed above the AS-1 line (the top 6 inches of the windshield) with non-reflective tint. No tint is allowed below the AS-1 line on the windshield.
If a vehicle is equipped with tinted rear windows, the vehicle must have dual side mirrors to comply with Florida law.
By reading this form, you acknowledge that you understand the applicable Florida tint laws and agree to comply with them. Any tint that does not meet the legal requirements will be for a show car or off-road vehicle that will not be driven on public roads. Part Time Tinting is not responsible for any tickets, accidents, or violations arising from illegal tint. If tint needs to be removed due to non-compliance with Florida law, an additional removal fee will apply.
Warranty:
Suntek Films come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Suntek Films provides a limited lifetime warranty against peeling, cracking, and fading, while Part Time Tinting offers a similar warranty. These warranties cover defects in materials or installation but do not cover damage caused by external factors such as scratches, tears, or dust particles as previously stated.
Please inspect your vehicle and address any concerns before leaving the premises upon pickup. If you have any issues with your tint, please notify us promptly to address them under the warranty coverage.
